Burnt OakAdd to favorites Share WHERE TO BUY VISUALIZE YOUR FLOOR
The base color of Burnt Oak is a dark charcoal. The name is a direct description of how this floor is produced. After an aggressive torching of the raw European Oak material, each plank is then cooled with water. Next a wire brush texture is applied, exposing the grain pattern which softens the overall look of this dark floor, while bringing out lighter brown tones. A final application of natural oils enhances the visual giving a nice balance between the warmth of the browns from the natural oak and the coolness of the burnt charcoal from the torching.
Each Atelier board is a work of art, lovingly created by our master craftsmen at our workshop in California.
One of the characteristics of an extraordinary floor is the variation from plank to plank, which makes your space come alive. The individual tannins in each board along with the time of year it is produced all add to this natural beauty. You should expect this variation in each Atelier floor. Depth and Richness
Our proprietary techniques are used to manipulate and enrich the wood from within to create colors with extraordinary depth and richness. The various reactive processes are meticulously applied to every plank which elicits a uniquely Atelier response from the wood. Every Atelier floor tells a story all its own.
Unlike urethane finishes, our oil finishes allow the wood to breathe. They create beautiful matte finishes and offer a lifetime of enjoyment when maintained properly. Oil finishes also allow easy spot treatments if needed to keep your floor looking amazing.
The tannins in our planks continue to evolve and change. As your Atelier floor ages, it will become richer in color and develop a natural patina that is unique to your floor. Like a fine wine, it improves with age.
