 The Operations Specialist, under limited supervision, performs factory communication and transportation activities to include monitoring, scheduling, and tracking pipeline assets. Controls the dialogue with factory partners over scheduling, bookings, sailings, drayage, etc. Maintains a highly accurate inventory report monitoring all stock ocean containers from release by the factory and every milestone along the supply chain until successful on-time delivery at the Distribution Center. Works with a variety of cross-function managers to communicate, facilitate and resolve all manner of opportunities relevant to transportation and logistics processes, as necessary. 

This position also performs inventory and MRO research, recording, reporting and other document exchange purchasing and allowances activities. Additional duties include cross-functional support as needed for the business as well as all compliance issues.

  • Coordinates domestic and international transportation, ocean import formalities and other logistics requirements as needed. 
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for all communication between Duchateau and international factory partners for all transportation and logistical matters. 
  • Work with the Purchasing and Compliance Specialist to maintain a detailed factory ocean container release schedule, sailing information, transit times on the water (OTW) and estimated dates of arrival to the distribution center. 
  • Responsible for managing and ensuring success of all direct-to-client drop-shipment activities. 
  • Ensures all ocean import containers are loading and leaving the factories as scheduled, that all export and ISF customs filings are in compliance and have been made in a timely manner. 
  • Daily maintenance of the OTW report, keeping this information visible and updated for management review at all times. 
  • Develop positive leadership relationships with managers and dispatchers at all freight forwarders. 
  • Understand the processes and organization of each freight forwarder and logistic partner to best leverage the interests of Duchateau. 
  • Manages daily activities with freight forwarding companies to ensure standard operating procedures and best practices are adhered to on behalf of the organizations. 
  • Monitors and controls all import compliance and customs clearance partnerships and activities. 
  • Ensures delivery appointments are set and kept by all drayage companies. 
  • Communicates with distribution center management to remain synchronized on all logistics expectations and the timely reporting and management of any operational exceptions. 
  • Partners with Sr. Product Operations Manager to develop and maintain freight forwarder and drayage company performance metrics. 
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining a suite of reports for the Sr. Product Operations Manager. 
  • Demonstrates the ability to interpret data and use it as a basis for recommendations to the business. 
  • Coordinates domestic and international purchase orders. 
  • Generates inventory planning reports and makes recommendations for adjustments to stocking levels and purchasing schedules. 
  • Reviews and approves all relative shipping documents and invoices in coordination with the shipping companies and Accounting. 




  • High School Graduate Diploma Required – Bachelor’s Degree preferred. 
  • Professional Logistical Accreditation preferred. 


  • Fluent in English & Mandarin preferred 
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)

  • Five years or more supply chain and logistics experience 
  • Worked cross functionally and support multiple areas across the business 
  • Experience investigating, monitoring, and documenting compliance and/or warranty materials 
  • Flooring, Wood, construction, or similar industry experience highly desirable 
  • Experience working in an international manufacturing company preferred 
  • Track record of working in a high volume, fast paced environment 
  • Experience working with an ERP System (i.e. NetSuite, NetStock) 
  • Experience working with team collaboration tools
