JOB OVERVIEW

The Procurement Manager will oversee the planning, procurement, storage, control, and distribution of materials and products according to company needs and customer requirements.

As Procurement Manager, you are a key part of the Operations team within the Global Supply Chain team. Based out of our San Diego location, you are responsible for identifying, creating, and managing global supplier relationships.

You should thrive in a fast-paced environment and be practiced in the execution of end-to-end supply chain management strategies throughout a product’s lifecycle while maintaining continuity of supply within the supply chain. You will achieve this through excellent communication, negotiations, and understanding the true business needs on both sides.

Salary Range:  Starting at $85K/year

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Ensures purchasing strategies and processes are in place to meet business objectives and operational needs in terms of price, quality, and delivery targets.
  • Promotes the effective use of a Material Resources Planning (MRP) system, including ongoing optimization and enhancements of the system.
  • Maintains strong vendor relationships, tracks performance, and provides vendor feedback.
  • Leads, develops, and supports purchasing team members.
  • Actively monitors inventory levels.
  • Tracks and reports metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
  • Continuously improves purchasing methods/processes.
  • Identifies opportunities to reduce transportation costs and charges.
  • Works closely with the Distribution Center Manager to monitor storage of all inventory.
  • Supports NPI team to help ensure successful product launches.
  • Creates and keeps SKUs up to date.
  • Establishes procedures for conducting year-end physical inventory.
  • Manages special projects and/or other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field required.
  • Five years of experience in purchasing and/or materials management required.
  • Logistics experience with exposure to import-export requirements a plus.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish a plus.
